UK Chamber of Shipping represent over 300 members in the UK shipping industry, and it seeks to unite shipping across the UK. They were looking to upgrade their website and in particular, wanted to improve the member site with a better CRM integration
The old website was dated and no longer fit for purpose, as it was built in an older outdated system. The client felt that there were too many pain points to address, and they made the decision to rebuild the website using Drupal, as this is an open source, flexible, scalable and secure CMS.
They also wanted to upgrade their CRM, where they manage all the memberships, so it needed to fully integrate with the Drupal website.
They chose Moore-Wilson, as we have extensive knowledge and expertise in the membership sector, as well as being experts in Drupal development.
Once all the requirements had been pinned down and there was a functional specification and a technical build spec, the design process was underway. Working firstly from wireframes and then in creative design iterations, the focus was on a clear and easy to navigate design with special emphasis on the membership area and dashboard.
The information architecture was flattened to provide more direct user journeys to key content, and there was a real focus on the user and how to make the website work hard in terms of showing relevant content by categorising it in the backend.

"After a testing period the new site launched in spring 2023 and we worked closely with UK Chamber of Shipping to migrate all the content ready for launch, and not least to make sure that the CRM integration was tested thoroughly so that members could log on straight away to their new account.
As well as hosting the new site, we also fully support it and we’re now looking forward to building a long lasting relationship and to continue to evolve the website and member portal.
