A new website and digital marketing strategy for a large chambers

39 Essex Chambers are one of the UK’s largest and most successful sets of barristers chambers. The client decided that it was the right time for a completely new digital strategy and they approached a number of leading digital agencies in the UK to pitch for the project.

THE BRIEF:

39 Essex Chambers are one of the UK’s largest and most successful sets of barristers chambers and they decided that it was the right time for a completely new digital strategy and they approached a number of leading digital agencies in the UK to pitch for the project.

Moore-Wilson won this work with a strategy that included rebuilding their site and considering a new approach to their digital marketing. They were also keen to have an agency that could deliver an ‘end-to-end solution’ and the fact that we have our own hosting department, that are contactable 24/7, appealed to them too.

We were fortunate to have a highly engaged senior team and we undertook a detailed scoping process, where we looked at heatmaps and tested wireframe options to ensure that the UX (User Experience) was properly developed. This ensured that we found a more intuitive approach to finding all the content, which can be a challenge in a set with such a large number of practice areas. The client was also keen to ensure that the site reflected their evolving brand and international presence, as they have offices in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

THE PROJECT:

A well structured website with a clean design and a fast search

A lot of the content in the original site was completely fine and so we undertook a content mapping exercise and wrote an auto-migration script to smoothly and efficiently move the bulk of the content from the old site to the new one.

We also carefully considered the issues around digital marketing, from preserving and building their SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to setting up clearer KPI (Key Performance Indicators) and generating reliable performance reporting.

The client were also keen on having a high performing and fast search on there, so this was a key part of the project. 

THE RESULT:

Intuitive high-performance site with clear KPIs and a strategy for continuous improvement

The site was built using Drupal and we are working with the client to continuously improve the site with a strategy of pre-planned enhancements.
