Venture Capital Partners is an independent financial advisory firm that helps high net worth individuals and institutions to create dynamic investment portfolios. Venture Capital Partners appointed Moore-Wilson in 2013 to deal with a number of issues around their brand and digital presence. A key part of the proposed project was to broaden the scope of the client’s branding so that they were not just associated with venture capital financing. They also wanted to refresh their digital presence in a way that would bring it up-to-date but still keep it in line with the traditional and conservative world of investment and finance.
In order to determine the best steps forward, Moore-Wilson ran a branding workshop with the directors and senior managers at Venture Capital Partners. It was important to the client that the name was retained in some form, as changing it completely held significant risks. We were able to recommend that the name be kept in acronym form and extended with ‘Advisors’ to signify the broader range of advisory services that they offer.
As part of the branding refresh Moore-Wilson also completely revamped the logo and rebuilt the website. The new logo retained the understated and conservative feel that the client wanted but with a sharper modern look. To ensure a degree of brand continuity, we retained the idea of cityscape imagery but revitalised this by using vibrant images of London and the new cities in which they have a presence.
