Com Laude is a specialist domain name management company that helps clients manage their domain name portfolio. Com Laude provide high levels of client management and ensure that all aspects of domain name management are handled professionally and responsibly. Com Laude felt that their website did not look up-to-date and that it was difficult to use for both website visitors trying to find information and for site administrators wanting to update the website. Com Laude selected Moore-Wilson to build a new website that would be simpler, more flexible and have a modern look and feel. Moore-Wilson were also tasked with building a new website for Valideus, Com Laude’s sister company who deal with the set-up of new gTLDs, that would have continuity in its design but distinct branding.
The new Com Laude website is fresh, modern and fully responsive – improving accessibility for visitors using mobile devices. In order to improve the usability of the website for visitors, Moore-Wilson made amendments to the information architecture so that users can easily locate the information they need. The new Com Laude website is built in the open source content management system Drupal as we felt this would provide the simplicity and user-friendliness needed to make it easier for site administrators to update the website.
A key part of the project was to make good use of the content that had been present on the old website, especially the content around gTLDs. We built a calendar that lists the status of new gTLDs and users can search, sort and filter the calendar to find the information they need. Users can filter by type and current status and can sort by gTLD, Registry and end date of current status. We also made sure to integrate a newsletter sign-up form into the homepage as this was a key area of value for Com Laude.
