New digital strategy to promote government expertise

Requirement:

The Institute for Government (IFG) is an independent charity that works with the main political parties at Westminster and senior civil servants in Whitehall to increase government effectiveness. The IFG selected Moore-Wilson to design and develop a new website that would effectively convey their brand and engage with their users. The IFG wanted their new website to have a more up-to-date look, which was bright, vibrant and modern without losing the intellectual and professional feel.

Solution:

Before starting the site build and development we collected questionnaires from staff in different departments to gain insight into how they wanted their section of the new website to function as well as suggest site-wide ideas. The resulting website uses the existing branding but has a much lighter and cleaner feel. 

The IFG wanted to make better use of video and audio so we made sure to include the ability to post podcasts and embed videos throughout the site and added the functionality to include videos in the homepage carousel. One specific issue that came up through the staff questionnaires at the beginning of the project was that the old publications page made it difficult to find specific resources and publications. To improve this, we added added additional search and filter tools.
