Doughty Street Chambers

CMS migration and website redesign for a pioneering Barristers Chambers.

Requirements:

Doughty Street Chambers is a set of internationally renowned barristers. They specialise in many areas of law across multiple jurisdictions, often in cases which have a strong emphasis on human rights and civil liberties.

Having been an existing Moore-Wilson client for many years, Doughty Street Chambers required a platform upgrade and website redesign for their main website. The main purpose for the rebuild was to migrate to a more flexible CMS, while a refresh of the site and branding was also a priority.

Solution:

We chose Drupal 8 for the CMS, to give the client much more control over the content that they produce. The client also asked us to help them with rebranding. Doughty Street has a proud history of being innovative and it was important that their branding was quite different to that of a traditional Barristers set.

Regarding the functionality, it was very important for users to be able to quickly and efficiently find everything they might need from the site. With this in mind, we were able to implement predictive text-based search feature that takes users directly to key pages within the Barrister, Practice Area and Staff Member sections, all without the need to manually find and select the correct result.

The site launched in Autumn 2018 and the client was very happy with the work that Moore-Wilson produced for them. They are utilising our fully managed hosting services and have an on-going support agreement with us to ensure that the site keeps developing and improving.
