New digital presence for leading investment industry trade body

The Association of Investment Companies (AIC) is the trade body for closed-ended investment companies. Members of the AIC receive guidance and advice on delivering better returns for investors and can attend conferences and round-tables held by the AIC on important issues. The AIC selected Moore-Wilson to build a new website with a simple and clean look and feel. The previous website was text-heavy and light on images, making the website seem outdated, it needed a more modern feel. One of the key requirements that the AIC had for the project was to improve the functionality and usability of the website.

The new website makes much greater use of images and each section has its own icon in the AIC’s brand colours. In order to achieve improved functionality and usability we restructured the site architecture making the different navigation options for members and financial advisers more prominent. Members of financial advisers can log into separate areas where they can access information on training, statistics and events. We also updated the search system, making it easier for users to find relevant content.

We further developed the functionality of the website through the addition of many new features, such as embedded videos, a glossary of financial terms and the integration of social media sharing buttons. The new site also utilises responsive web design, improving accessibility for anyone using a tablet or mobile.
