new CMS drives UK awareness of the Commission

The European Commission is well aware of the gap between Brussels and the voter. In the UK, all too often, people still have little idea about what the EU does, let alone how it does it. As a consequence, the Commissioner for communication policy was keen to re-invigorate public discussion on Europe at a local level.

The EU invited tenders for building a new online portal for promoting Europe within the UK. This included a website for their Information Network, another for Culture, and also a site for Youth and Education.

We were delighted to win this work and set about building a powerful CMS that would enable members of the Information Network to keep the site up-to-date from within their various regions. The sites were built to incorporate plenty of interactive or interesting features, which included: Flash games, European blogs, and an online magazine.
